Description: Note: Please study the images carefully to determine the condition of this vintage photograph, as it may not be in perfect condition. It may contain wrinkles, cracks, and possibly even tears due to its age and how it was handled before it got to us. A scanner may interpret colors and contrast differently than human eyes will, so it is possible that the actual photograph may be slightly darker or lighter in person. This vintage photograph is offered for sale as a collectible item and conveys no transfer of copyright. 1965 Press Photo Killer whale Namu shown on his way to a Seattle aquarium This is an original press photo. The Pacific Coast's latest celebrity, Namu, the killer whale shows his impatience with close-up portrait photography by spouting salty spray during a stopover yesterday on his way to a Seattle aquarium. He (or she) swam into some fishermen's nets and was sold to the aquarium as the only one of his kind in captivity. The 22-foot mammal is lounging in a makeshift pan during the trip by tug 400 miles down the coast to Seattle and eating prodigious quantities of expensive salmon. That's a dorsal fin sticking out of the water. Photo measures 10 x 8.25 inches. Photo is dated 7-13-1965.
