French bronze sculpture by Eugene Marioton (1854 - 1933). "Le Dance". The piece depicts an Art Nouveau styled woman with a flowing robe, and is made of solid gilded bronze. It is signed on the base, and it is impressive, measuring 33" tall. The piece measures 33" tall, 16" wide, and 10" deep. It weighs about 40 lbs. Overall, the piece is in very good condition, free of dents, dings, or restorations. The figure was likely holding a small branch in the cupped hand, which is now missing (you can see a small attachment hole where it once was). The patina is rich, and even throughout. The piece was cast in parts, and the seams attaching the arms to the body have become visible.
