BILL BLASS Vintage Sage Green Cocktail Dinner Dress with Ruched Hips Size 4/SM

Description: Fabulous vintage cocktail dress from Bill Blass features many couture details such as hand-sewn ruching at the hips, self-covered buttons, and very fine silk fabric. The top of the dress dress has a blouson design with dolman sleeves and both ruching and zippers at the cuffs. The skirt is also ruched all around the hips except for a flat panel in front. The dress closes to the waist with a zipper and then with self-covered buttons up to the neckline. Although no fabric label is present (which along with the union label confirms that the dress is probably from about 1985) it is definitely silk with charmeuse stripes alternating with matte faille. Lined in sage green silk. Labeled vintage size 6, but going by the waist and hip measurements, sizing tables indicate it is closer to a modern size 4.
