Description: I have for sale a medal made for the 1893 Columbian Exposition that was held in Chicago. The medal is made of copper plated white metal, it is 2 11/16 inches in diameter and in slightly circulated condition. This medal is listed in the Eglit catalog as #475. The obverse reads WORLDS COLUMBIAN EXPOSITION - CHICAGO - 1893 - ADMINISTRATION BUILDING and the building is pictured in the center. The reverse at the rim reads HIGHEST BUILDING IN THE WORLD - MASONIC TEMPLE, CHICAGO. The building is high relief is in the center. Around the building it reads OBSERVATORY 302 FEET - 16 ELEVATORS. 16,000 TONS FIRE PROOFING - 6,200 TONS STEEL. ERECTED 1890. This is a heavy medal.
