Description: Original Watercolor & Pen 1938 “Lighthouse" by Illustrator/ARTIST - DONALD J. MACKEY Donald J. Mackey was a postwar and contemporary artist who was active and lived in Louisiana. Donald is highly known for his city scene and landscape watercolors and illustrations. His subjects ranged from space flight, nature scenes, and famous landmarks such as the White House and the Metropolitan Opera House. Many of his drawings were contributed to various publications and books as images and illustrations. This original watercolor on paper is in very good condition bordered with a white mat. This watercolor has minor discoloration around the edges from a previous acidic mat (please see images). This work of art was painted in 1938 and the pen and ink was added later in 1949 (inscribed on the verso). DONALD J.
