Description: FIVE replacement nylon washers for the original metal KitchenAid Mixer grinder attachment. The one that has been around for over 40 years. These washers serve several purposes. They create an insulating barrier between the back of the rotating auger and the housing where you have metal on metal to reduce heat and noise. They also serve as spacers to create a tighter fit up front where the plate and knife touch. If you are experiencing a space between the plate and knife this should solve the issue. Usually, if meat is not coming out at all or coming out "mushy" it is because there is not good contact between the knife and cutting plate. Slip the washer on the back stem of the auger - some units may need to use two. Note: These washers will ONLY fit the original version of the metal Kitchenaid meat grinder - similar to the ones pictured. They will NOT fit the plastic FGA versions or the new cheap aluminum "metal" ones that KitchenAid now sells. You will receive 5 nylon washers to be used on the back of the auger if your unit requires it. Place the washer over the stem of the auger to allow for a tight fit between the knife and plate.
