Description: During the mid-1960’s, the East-West Shrine All-Star Game wrapped up the college football season. The 1965 game was held on December 31st and was preceded by a gala banquet. At that event, forty-four college stars signed their autograph, along with their school’s name, on two sheets of white paper. The treasure trove of star signatures includes future Pro Football Hall of Fame inductees Dick Butkus and the late Gale Sayers of the Chicago Bears, Heisman Trophy winner, Super Bowl champion and Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee Roger Staubach from the U.S. Naval Academy and Dallas Cowboys. In addition, College Football Hall of Fame Coach Pete Elliott, Iowa Hawkeyes and Minnesota Viking Coach Jerry Burns signed, along with Super Bowl champion quarterback Craig Morton, two-way terror and All-American Clancy Williams, All-American and Atlanta Falcons star running back Tom Nowatzke, and many other 1965 All-Americans. This is truly a one-of-a-kind college football time capsule, preserved in a metallic gold frame with museum glass and engraved inscription. 12” H X 27” W.
