Description: This India 50 Rupee banknote was issued by the Reserve Bank of India in 2017 as part of the new Mahatma Gandhi series. The obverse of the flourescent blue banknote depicts a portrait of Indian lawyer and political ethicist Mahatma Gandhi who led a successful movement for Indias independence from the British colony. It also shows the ancient Lion Capital of Ashoka Pillar, flowers, and the RBI seal with tiger and palm tree. The reverse side features a language panel with Hindu text, the Swachh Bharat logo depicting Gandhi’s eyeglasses, and the historic Stone Chariot monument in Vijaya Vittala Temple in Hampi, in central Karnataka. The note measures 135 x 66 mm and is equipped with a windowed security thread with demetalized RBI and Hindu text, and a watermark image of Mahatma Gandhi, electrotype 50, and vertical RBI 50. It is in uncirculated condition and has been authenticated.
