RARE! 1890s Homer Laughlin ROCOCO Eagle-Over-Lion Premium 3 pc Soup Tureen Set

Description: VERY RARE / 1890s Homer Laughlin ROCOCO Line Eagle-Over-Lion Premium 3 piece Soup Tureen Set with Gorgeous Gold Gilding and Intricate Floral Decal When will you find another collectors??! Absolutely stunning and intricate Soup Tureen with Matching Ladle from Homer Laughlin's Rococo line. Likely the only surviving soup tureen with matching ladle from this line with this decaling! Rococo was first made by the Homer Laughlin China Company in 1891. By the early 1900s it had been phased out and was no longer listed in catalogs after 1906. Pieces are generally marked with the "eagle over lion' backstamp. Rococo is not the easiest of HLC shapes to find. It can be found plain or with decals and/or gold decoration. This soup serving dish set features gold line decaling and beautiful wildflowers on the sides and lid and ladle. Condition: Very Good Antique preowned condition. No chips or cracks. Has the expected under the glaze crazing and age staining, especially on the inside of the base, which can only be seen if lid is taken off - age staining and crazing is very common with antique ceramic pottery. Decal, gold lines, and glaze is shiny and bright. Small factory imperfections on this piece from factory production such as sand bumps, glaze pops, glaze misses, etc. The ladle appears to have a factory mark from where it sat on the kiln to be fired called a pontil scar - same with the underside of the lid has a factory kiln flaw.
