Description: These fabulous antique late 18th century britches feature black silk over a canvas backing with decorative cut steel buttons and cut steel beads applied in wavy bands. As well as side slits that run down the side of each leg inset with white silk puffs secured with 2 black silk bows with flower and vine embossed tapering cones on the tails (only 1 remains). The britches fasten at the knee with 3 cut steel buttons and buckles. Measurements laying flat are as follows: waist 14'', hip 16.5'', length 24'', inseam 13''. The britches are in good condition for their age with fraying to the inseam and outer seams, rust on several of the cut steel accents, 1 missing cut steel button, missing buckles at the knee, and a few areas of loss to the silk.
