🔥 RARE Antique Old California Impressionist Landscape Oil Painting, Louise Rash

Description: This is a masterful and exquisite RARE Antique Old California Impressionist Landscape Oil Painting on Masonite, depicting an idyllic Southern California landscape scene, in what is probably the Arroyo Seco region of Pasadena. Delicately painted eucalyptus trees, and goldenrod hued grasses frame the scene, while an icy blue and pinkish toned mountain vista is visible in the distance. The finesse and skill of the artist is clearly visibly in this piece, and its imagery represents the quintessential ideal of California Impressionism. Signed: "Louise Rash" in the lower left corner. This artist was the wife of Frederick Milton Rash (1919 - 1998,) who's own fame greatly overshadowed her own, in a time when female artists were rarely represented seriously in California. Louise and her husband Frederick had a studio for many years in Laguna Beach, California. Not much is known about her art career, which is a shame due to her immense talent. The verso of this piece is titled and signed in graphite: "Beach Rocks...By Fred Rash," and signed again in cursive, "Fred Rash." This likely indicates that this Masonite canvas was originally a seascape scene by Frederick Rash and was re-used by his wife to create this gorgeous landscape work, probably in the 1940's - 1950's. Approximately 14 x 17 inches (including frame.) Actual artwork is approximately 11 x 14 inches. Good condition for age, with some light discoloring and nicotine residue at the upper edge, and light edge wear to the original period frame (please see photos.) This rare artwork is priced to sell.
