RARE VTG Homer Laughlin Riviera 'Radioactive' RED 10" Dinner Plate (Not the 9")

Description: RARE VTG Homer Laughlin Riviera 'Radioactive' RED 10" Dinner Plate (Not the 9") This is the 10" plate - see picture comparison of the 9" versus this rare 10" plate. These don't come up very often so now is your chance! Charming yet simple, the scalloped edges on all 4 corners gives attention to the Art Deco design element. Dipped in the original radioactive Fiesta® Red glaze. Riviera was a special line which used Century shapes in solid colors. Samples were made in December of 1937 with two colors from Fiesta®: red and the original green, and two colors from Harlequin: blue (mauve type) and yellow. Ivory was picked up after 1943 when red was no longer used by HLC. Rivera was produced until circa 1950. Riviera was never meant to be marked, but some pieces are found with an HLC USA stamp. It's believe such pieces were marked for export. Regarding ivory Riviera and markings, if you find a piece of ivory (vellum) that is marked, then it's an undecorated piece of Century. Unmarked ivory pieces are almost always Riviera.We have LOTS of Riviera pieces in the store with super rare items (and lots of other HLC pieces)! Has some underside rim nicks and one underside chip - displays well, can only see the chips if turning the plate upside down - does not distract, noted for accuracy. Has some surface wear from utensils and use. May have other factory imperfections such as glaze pops, skips, or sand bumps - all common for this vintage pottery from factory production.
