This is an official Ukrainian FDC (First Day Cover) issued to commemorate the Ukrainian Marines and Border Guards of Zmeiny (Snake) Island who resisted surrendering the island fortress to the Russian Warship & Missile Cruiser, Moskva (the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation) with their informal spokesperson, Sgt. Roman Hrybrov telling the Russian Warship where to go: "Go F* yourself" over the radio on a radio call to surrender. The second stamp on the FDC commemorates the sinking of the ship by the Ukrainian Armed Forces a few days later, April 14, 2022. Though ultimately captured by the Russian Navy, Sgt. Hrybrov was released from Russian captivity in a prisoner swap. The Ukrainian phrase, "Russian Warship Go F* Yourself" went viral on the world-wide web and has become the Battle Cry for Ukraine in their quest to defend their territory against Russian aggression. Upon his return to Ukraine, Sgt. Hrybrov was awarded a Medal of Heroism by the Governor of Cherskasy, Ukraine (where Sgt. Hrybrov is from) and the Ukrainian Defense Ministry. There were two denominations of the stamp issued: "W" and "F". "W" was for International mail and "F" was for Ukrainian Domestic Mail. The ones on this FDC are "F" stamps. The Printing run of both stamps was 500,000. The Printing Run for the FDC was 20,000.
