Description: Antique ammonium hydroxide apothecary/reagent chemistry bottles (used for mixing chemicals). Really similar to apothecary jars except these were more likely to have been mixing medicine. This bottle was made by machine between 1903-1930. The bottom says MBW-USA, which stands for Millville Bottle Works, a company purchased by TC Wheaton— a bottle maker. The USA marking was used for bottles exported to other countries. The ammonia bottles that I got in the set this one came in are have rainbow colored sheen. I found this really interesting bc I highly doubt that they were a coating like that in the early 1900s? So I’m kind of guessing that this is the ammonia and that these chemical bottles haven’t been washed out after they were last used decades ago. (I personally think that makes this a unique and even cooler feature of these bottles!)This is a great finishing touch for dark academia, light academia, whimsygothic themed decor! Also of course a perfect gift for friends who love these aesthetics.I have 40 different bottles like this so if you think this one is cool, come check out the other ones in my shop!DISCLAIMER: PLEASE use caution and common sense. I would not use this to store anything in unless you do wash it out, and certainly don’t eat or drink out of it. Use gloves if you do wash it out! Please also research how/whether whatever using to clean it with will react to the chemical in the bottle. (Assumably ammonium). If in doubt, I would not use anything but water to clean it out, since mixing different chemicals can cause toxic gases. To be on the safe side I would not wash this out at all. By purchasing you agree to not hold the seller liable for any damage done due to negligent handling of this bottleThe outside of the bottle has been wiped down, however the inside has been left as I’d originally gotten it.
