Description: Here we have a beautiful hand made, carved wood fish decoy, by Mr. Renner, out of Minnesota. Circa 1940's. (See reference book: Kimball's "Fish Decoy III", page 109) Presenting with metal fins, painted eyes, and painted gills and mouth. The Fish is painted a lighter cream along its sides, belly and back. An abstracted scale patterning is suggested with wonderful painted cross-hatching pattern applied in a golden brown along the sides. Note the wonderful arc of the fish shape, and wooden tail. 6 1/2" long. The Fish is in good solid condition, with signs of use or ware, and a patina appropriate to its fine old age. A Beauty.
