Description: Purchased by myself as a photographic resale item because it was a collectible & Usable ITEM: Zeiss Tessar 150mm 178mm F:4.5 Nr.296149 lens in a focusing helicoid, meant for a focal plane shutter camera from 1917~ 1919? INFO---- Could be from the following Contessa-Nettel, Deckrullo-Nettel,Klapp press camera tropen Klapp MECHANICALLY: Great condition , aperture turns easily, 15 blades! Helicoid from 2~inf, meter OPTICALLY: Original condition works nice, BUT the 2nd element is on a frozen thread in this four element Tessar design and I dont know how to unfreeze this design of 1917! Do you? This would be a great lens if I could get the dam 2nd element out. This design of over one hundred years ago was unfortunately adapted by Voigtlander, Goerz,Zeiss, Bausch & Lomb, Wollensak and others and it's always a Bxxxx to get at that element! The lens is for a 9x12cm camera for sure, But which one , I do NOT know? Could be Contessa, could be Nettel, could be Zeiss, so many camera makers used Zeiss lenses. A possible clue is it says AIV2 or A IV 2 in the aperture ring that goes from 4.5~36. The focusing knob looks like it was modified thru the thread of the little knob eons ago.. 1st, 3rd and 4th elements are near perfect. **** 2nd element is in a frozen thread that screws into the back of 1st element ******* So it needs to be SERVICED ************* Feedback UPDATE: I leave professional positive feedback only and work out any and all problems if they happen.please contact me if problems in shipping or content occurs, first. I have been known to rebuild shutters of Leaf design and work on T.L.R. & folding Japanese WW2 cameras. In 35mm , it has too be economically feasible before I will rebuild these days as many 35mm cameras are impracticable to repair as they sell for little money on Ebay. Often I clean lenses as my business is centered around sale of LEGACY lenses for the Mirrorless cameras, where they perform far superior than the horrible rangefinders of yesteryear they were attached too! I have a 1 day BUSINESS DAYS turnaround in sales in house, from the time YOU pay and I RECEIVE the money, not when you sent it, weekends excluded of course! .
